BuildByCalc calculators give material estimates for planning and budgeting. They are not engineering, structural or professional construction advice.

  • Check with your supplier. Product sizes, bag yields and densities vary by brand and region. Confirm quantities before you order.
  • Check your local code. Retaining walls, walls over 4 ft, footings, foundations and anything that carries a load may need an engineered design, inspections and a permit.
  • Prices are examples. Enter your own local prices for a real budget. Default prices are only there to show how the estimate works.
  • Labor isn’t included unless a calculator says otherwise.
